Walt Garrison got his nickname, "Puddin'," from Dave Edwards. We always called him that but I don't know why. Walt was anything but soft. He was tough, intelligent, entertaining, and loved horses and rodeoing as much as he did football. In fact, his career as a fullback was ended by a knee injury he suffered bulldogging a steer. He came in a cowboy and went out a cowboy.
